If you’ve read previous blog posts, you’ve seen the post about winning the pressure washing contract for the City of Longmont.  We did a relatively large project recently that involved deep cleaning the special colored concrete at each intersection of Main St from 3rd Ave through 5th Ave as well as the breezeways and a few other specified areas of the sidewalks along Main St.

Water Running Into A Storm Drain - No Water RecoveryWe were prepared to do water recovery along with the pressure washing, but what we learned on this particular job was that washing intersections where the water will flow two different directions requires a bit more time and planning to capture all the water before it runs to the nearest storm drain.

Although we planned on running two recovery units the whole time, we had to adjust how actually used them.  We were able to get the job done on time by operating two recovery units along with two pressure washing teams. It took a lot of coordinating, but in the end the job was done and done well.  The City of Longmont had clean sidewalks for their festival and we learned to check every possible direction of water flow before bidding the job.
