It’s that time of year again when all the grimy remnants of winter need to be washed away from parking garages, shopping center sidewalks and commercial and residential building exteriors.  It’s time to renew and revive the appearance and curb appeal of your property – where to start?

If you’re considering having any part of your property power washed, here are a few things to keep in mind.

  1. WASH WATER RECOVERY!!!  The new Colorado regulations that became effective last year will certainly have a higher level of enforcement this year.  If you don’t want to study every aspect of the new regulations, just remember this:  no water generated by pressure washing is allowed to go down any storm drain!  This applies to anyone doing any pressure washing – even if you’re just using water.  With fines starting at $1000, don’t let wash water recovery send your money down the drain.  Call a company like Wash On Wheels that knows the regulations and has the permits, equipment and years of experience to keep you in compliance with the EPA.
  2. SCHEDULING.  For shopping centers and commercial buildings, pressure washing is usually done after hours, but it is still possible to have freezing temperatures this time of year.  So be sure to schedule your sidewalk and building cleaning soon, but be flexible if temps push the washing off a day or two.  For residential building cleaning like apartments or condos, pressure washing is usually done during the day, so it’s pretty easy to fit these jobs in.  For parking garage pressure washing, cleaning and degreasing, keep in mind that the washing needs to be scheduled far enough in advance to notify the residents and employees that they will have to park all vehicles somewhere other than the garage for the duration of the project.  Which brings us to the next point…
  3.
