Pressure Washing After The Color Run At City Park – Video

The Color Run is a fun event that happens in cities across the country.

In Denver, the 2012 Color Run took place at City Park.  It’s a 5k that’s more about fun than speed and people of all ages and athletic abilities participated.

As the ‘runners’ followed the course, there were several stations where family and friends waited with handfuls of colored corn starch.

As the runners passed through, the throwers plastered them with the colorful powder.  Since the event was in midsummer and the runners were dripping sweat, the colors found some pretty psychedelic patterns to stick to the runners.

People seeing the event from a distance could pick out each station by the billowing cloud of color that grew as the event went on.  Blue, yellow, orange and pink decorated the runners and dusted the ground around each station.  As colorful and fun as the event was, it did make a mess that had to be cleaned up.

Even as the Color Run was wrapping up, the event coordinators had street sweeper trucks moving in to the color stations to suck up the loose corn starch.

If you’ve ever been close to a street sweeper while it’s working, you know that it kicks up a lot of dust as it goes.  Although the street sweepers did pick up a lot of the corn starch, there was still much of it left behind that was either stuck to the pavement or had settled out of the air after they were done.
