We recently cleaned a 3-story building in Boulder that had been remodeled by GH Phipps Construction. The building had a unique shape that took some extra time and planning to get everything clean.
Some of the work was done from the ground with ladders. And some of it was reachable by getting up on the lower roof.
Extended reach as important as height
But we needed a 65-foot boom lift to reach all the different levels. The back of the building wasn’t paved and had some trees we had to work around. If you don’t know what you’re doing around trees and shrubs, it’s easy to damage them.
Experience makes you more efficient
This was one of those jobs where experience made us much more efficient. You have to know how plan the job, move the lift properly, and work as a team to make effective use of your time.
Many times post-construction cleanup takes more than just a rinse. If you have paint to remove, or mortar on the brick, you might need special materials to get it off.
And doing that kind of work high in the air without an experienced crew is just asking for trouble! The three-man crew on this job has worked together for more than five years.
